Eight Fortunes is a narrative-driven tabletop role-playing system that invites you to embark on a journey guided by fate. The players take on the roles of unique characters, each guided by their own troubles and the ever-present influence of luck.

Eight Fortunes provides a flexible and genre-agnostic framework, allowing you to tailor your adventures to any setting or theme that inspires you. Whether you're exploring a high-fantasy realm, a gritty cyberpunk cityscape, or a mysterious horror landscape, the rules and guidelines within Eight Fortunes adapt to your vision. Using a streamlined ruleset inspired by the PbtA framework, Eight Fortunes emphasizes collaborative storytelling, where the outcomes of your actions are shaped as much by the roll of the dice as by the collective imagination of the players.

Core Mechanics

The core mechanic of Eight Fortunes revolves around rolling a d8 to determine the outcome of actions. The Players consult the result and have the option to spend a Fortune Token to roll a second d8. This second roll introduces a chance to improve the initial result or further complicate it, adding a layer of risk and reward. This dynamic encourages engagement, as players must weigh the benefits of pushing their luck against the potential consequences.
